Hot and humid in New England

It was quite chilly last night in the Bay Area, mid 40’s. But I see on the TeeVee that the baseball playoffs are hot and sticky, and my daughter tells me the leaves haven’t changed in Rhode Island.

I hope that when the residents of the coastal states have to move farther and farther inland to escape the rising oceans, they will be mad as hell.  I imagine the rest of the world is gonna be pretty mad, also.

As best I can tell, we are certainly in for a 20 foot rise. The only thing that could possibly change that is Al Gore becoming president of the US in 2008.  And that isn’t going to happen.  The Atlantic and Gulf coasts are also going to be devastated by storms. Droughts, crop failures, floods, insects, tropical diseases … it’s all going to be, shall we say, unpleasant.

All we can realistically hope for is to avoid the 80 foot rise.
