Film: The Lives of Others

What can I add? The 2007 Academy Award winner for Best Foreign Language Film.  At this point, you may have to travel a few miles to find it, but it’s well worth the trouble.  Set in East Germany before the wall came down, this is a suspense/spy/love/political/literary film. The subtitles are so skillfully done that one almost doesn’t notice that the spoken dialogue is in German.

A great film, very European in style, but with an exciting plot.

One leaves the theater wondering if this was a true story.
