Moonrise Kingdom

92/100.

A much more thoughtful and enjoyable serio-comedic effort by Wes Anderson and Roman Coppola, after the 2007 effort, Rich Stooges, er I mean, The Darjeeling Limited. Bill Murray and Jason Schwartzman show up again, plus Frances McDormand, Bruce Willis, Ed Norton, and two young newcomers as the stars, a pair of 12 year old “lovers.” It’s often hard to know whether to smile, avert one’s gaze or tear up, but the emotional pitch is generally not very intense.
